The Journey of Terry W. Short: From Adversity to Empires
I was born Terrence Short in Penrith, N.S.W., Australia. At the age of four, while playing outside with a friend, I chased a ball into the road and was struck by a car. My head became lodged against the wheel as the vehicle moved, and I stopped breathing three times on the operating table before being brought back to life. The doctors gave my family little hope. I had to relearn how to eat, walk, and speak. My memory was impaired, and I often felt years behind other children. Special schooling, bullying, and missed birthdays and Christmases defined much of my early life.
School and life
By year nine, I left school and began working as a storeman in furniture removal. Over the years, I built and upgraded businesses, gaining decades of experience. Along the way, I discovered both joys and hardships—struggles with drugs and alcohol, three marriages, and the responsibility of raising six children. Technology fascinated me when the Commodore 64 and later Windows PCs came along, and I taught myself to repair, upgrade, and reprogram computers. But working online seemed out of reach.
Work from home
In 2017, while living in Australia with limited employment opportunities, I began exploring online income. I started with surveys, but the promise of quick money quickly proved false.
